When we rest our energy is restored

A great day begins with a night of deep & rested sleep.

Good health, strong immunity, mindful eating, a sharp mind and more importantly a great mood are things you experience when you have rested well.

Sleep and mood are closely connected.

University of Pennsylvania researchers found that people who were limited to only 4.5 hours of sleep a night for one week reported feeling more stressed, angry, sad, and mentally exhausted. When the same people resumed normal sleep, they reported a dramatic improvement in their mood. Chronic insomnia may increase the risk of mood disorders, such as anxiety or depression.

As women, we know that mood swings have been part of our lives since we got into our teens. Deep & rested sleep can improve your mood manifold the next day. We owe it to ourselves to be hormonally vibrant and set ourselves up for success and this starts with the joys of magical sleep!

Days and weeks of less than desired hours of sleep will ensure exhaustion catches up with you eventually. Constant exhaustion leaves you with brain fog, increased forgetfulness, and unpredictable emotions. I don’t know about you, but I don`t want to start my day like that. And if a simple and mindful act of sleeping on time makes the next day brighter, happier and more joyful for me, then it`s something worth implementing immediately.

Self-love should be on top of our priority list especially as women. More about that in our next tête-à-tête. For now I will leave you with this to ponder upon....

What are the things that prevent you from sleeping on time? (an ideal time usually is around 9.30-10.00pm). Make a list of them so you can start working out ways to circumvent these hurdles or at the least be aware of the things that stand in the way of a vibrant `you'.
